PUBLIC SPEAKER
Several meeting organizers have rated award-winning author Anthony S. Pitch one of the finest speakers ever to address their groups.

He is invited annually to give a speech at Fort McHenry on the anniversary of Francis Scott Key writing the national anthem. He has been a guest speaker at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and was recently invited to speak at the Rosborough Distinguished Speakers Series, and to give the annual Judith P. Austin Memorial Lecture at the Library of Congress. He spoke at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. on the 191st anniversary of Francis Scott Key writing the national anthem. Recently he gave the first in a series of lectures at the invitation of the War of 1812 Bicentennial Symposium Committee, a collaboration between Monroe County Community College and Monroe County Historical Society, Michigan.

Whether light-hearted or serious, Pitch has spoken before meetings, conventions, seminars, patriotic societies, service oranizations, academics, book clubs, social groups, historical societies, and has appeared at numerous chain and independent book stores to talk about his books.

After publication of his most recent book, The Burning of Washington: The British Invasion of 1814, ( a selection of the History Book Club), he was interviewed live by Brian Lamb on C-SPAN in the Library of Congress for the inauguration of Book TV. His speech at Barnes and Noble, Georgetown, was also aired on C-SPAN. In an appearance on C-SPAN for the James Madison segment of the series on U.S. Presidents, Pitch was interviewed at Brookeville, Maryland, in front of the home where the fugitive president took refuge while the British occupied Washington in 1814. Most recently he was interviewed by Liane Hansen on National Public Radio's "Weekend Edition Sunday" and was featured in the History Channels' "First Invasion" documentary on the War of 1812.

Two of Anthony Pitch's anecdotal history tours in Washington, D.C. have been featured on C-Span TV. Pitch narrated a tour to the Washington, D.C. Homes of the Presidents (before and after the White House), as part of C-Span TV's series on the American Presidents. In his most recent appearance on C-Span TV, Pitch was featured on Presidents' Day and again on the anniversary of Lincoln's death, taking viewers on a tour of Washington, D.C. sites connected with the assassination of Abraham Lincoln, based on the book he is currently writing, "They Have Killed Papa Dead!" - The Assassination of Abraham Lincoln.
